When you want to redecorate your home there are many things that you can do. What happens though if you want to redecorate your bedroom?

It's not as difficult as you might think and there are quite a few things you can do to alter your existing bedroom decor to something fresh and updated, without the need for an unworkable budget.

You can achieve a good looking bedroom even if you are on a tight budget. You may need to cut a few corners; however, they won't need to be severe or anything too dramatic.

One of the best ways to update your bedroom if you're on a tight budget is to go at it slowly. Take it a section at a time or even an idea at a time and gradually change your old bedroom decor into your new bedroom decor.

The problem with this method; however, is that you may not get to see a striking change taking place, instead you'll have a gradual change which can  be quite unremarkable. Another thing you can do is to change around the entire bedroom decor all at once.

This can be more satisfying to the eyes and can brighten your mood considerably when you see the changes that have been made.

Whether on a tight budget or not, the best place to begin your new endeavor is to take the time to plan what you want changed in your bedroom. Unless you're fully re-doing your bedroom then it's almost a given that you won't change your bedroom furniture. Therefore, since much the major expenses are out you need to decide what it is about your old bedroom decor that you dislike and what it is that you want to change.

This may not be as easy as you think as not everything is obvious at first glance. That's why you should sit back and take an objective look at what you need to do about your bedroom decor.

The most obvious place to start is with the walls. Do they need a fresh coat of paint or can you get away with a few strategically placed pictures. 

Do your curtains need to be replaced, and what about the bedding and pillows? Another initial place for you to start is with a colour scheme or theme in mind. If you can settle on what you want your bedroom to look like in the end - within budget - then you can go on from there. 

A few decorative items here and there can enhance your bedroom and may just do the trick. Intermingled with a few expensive key pieces and your new bedroom decor may just be all that you want or need to feel a sufficient change has been made.

Often you already own the items that can be used to completely re-create your bedroom décor.  Look around your home and decide if there are items that you feel would look great in the bedroom. 

Check in your basement or in your attic, quite often there are stashed things you don’t know what to do with or have not used in a while and would look great in your new bedroom.  That crystal dish that you received at your wedding is doing no good in the attic, place some potpourri in the dish and you have accomplished two things; you have rescued a stunning dish from the forgotten realms and you have an attractive vessel for potpourri.
